This is the most common example we find in both the Bible and the Qur’an. Chapter 37 of the book of Genesis of Taurat, tells the story of Joseph. This story is also found in the Qur’an in chapter 12, when Joseph receives a dream from Allah.
“When Joseph said to his father, “O my father, I saw eleven planets, and the sun, and the moon; I saw them bowing down to me.” – Yusuf, 12:4.
“Then he dreamed another dream and told it to his brothers and said, “Behold, I have dreamed another dream. Behold, the sun, the moon, and eleven stars were bowing down to me.” But when he told it to his father and to his brothers, his father rebuked him and said to him, “What is this dream that you have dreamed? Shall I and your mother and your brothers indeed come to bow ourselves to the ground before you?” And his brothers were jealous of him, but his father kept the saying in mind.” – Taurat, Genesis 37:10-11.
Yusuf'un kardeşleri ona kıskançlıkla doluydular ve Yusuf'un gördüğü rüyalar onların öfkesini daha da artırdı. Ona karşı bir plan yaptılar ve onu Mısır'da bir köle olarak sattılar. After some time, Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, had dreams and there was no one who could interpret them. Then ,finally the cupbearer remembered of Joseph, who worshiped the Creator God, the true God and Joseph was then called to the king’s presence and after praying and asking for wisdom from Allah, he gave the interpretation to the king : “Then Joseph said to Pharaoh, “The dreams of Pharaoh are one; God has revealed to Pharaoh what he is about to do. The seven good ears are seven years, and the seven good ears are seven years; the dreams are one. The seven lean and ugly cows that came up after them are seven years, and the seven empty ears blighted by the east wind are also seven years of famine. It is as I told Pharaoh; God has shown to Pharaoh what he is about to do. ” – Taurat, Genesis 41:25-28.
Bunun üzerine Yusuf, krala yedi yıl sürecek kıtlık için önlemler alacak uygun birini seçmesini önerdi: "'Firavun'un rüyasının iki kez tekrarlanması, Allah'ın bunu kesinlikle gerçekleştireceğini gösterir ve Allah'ın yapmak istediği şey kısa süre içinde olacaktır. Şimdi Firavun akıllı ve bilge birini seçsin ve onu Mısır ülkesinin başına geçirsin.'" - Taurat, Yaratılış 41:32-33. Kral Yusuf'u bir lider olarak atadı ve gelecek kıtlık yılları için önlem almasına izin verdi. Henüz bunun farkında değildi, ancak bu önlem, Mısır'da binlerce kişinin hayatını kurtaracak ve onun köle olarak satan ailesinin, babasının ve kardeşlerinin hayatlarını da kurtaracaktı.
